02/12/2018: Today's Updates... 6.25pm...
it is very wet here in Chatel this evening after a very, very wet day.
On the plus side, the latest charts continue to show a wintry theme next weekend.
More on all of this tomorrow.
As the rain falls here in Chatel, here are a few charts for the the end of next week and through next weekend. The trend from the big 3 operational models appears set, with low pressure shown to be moving across the far north of Britain on Friday morning. Thereafter, note the subtle but important differences of the behaviour of the low and the area of high pressure ridging generally northwards in the Atlantic. If we are lucky, we may see a near perfect alignment of precipitation laden colder air piling into our region. If we are not so lucky, we may only see a glancing blow of both the precipitation and colder air, or we may see some sort of halfway house scenario. Which evolution of the charts below will be correct?... Probably none of them, as they will all change to some degree, but the good news today is that there remains a chance of significant snowfall next weekend.
Bonjour... the latest forecast has just been update over on the snow forecast page.
It is currently raining in the village with copious amounts of rainfall expected over the next 36 hours.
How you can help this season... you will notice on some pages that there is a PayPal tip/donation box, eg on the "About Us" page, where you can send us a tip, if you like what we are doing. There is no obligation to do so, but any donations will help the running costs of this site during the winter season. The more people who help, the better we can make this site.
