03/01/2019: Today's Updates... 5.55pm...
Day 20 Of The 2018/19 Chatel Ski Season:
A quiet day for updates - back to normal tomorrow...
It's been clear and sunny today, but also cold with the snow making operation continuing across the ski area. This morning's trip up the ski area found some really hard pistes, with the operation of the snow cannon causing some goggle issues! However, the cannon will help to stabilise or even improve conditions in some areas. There was less wind than expected this morning, however, winds did reportedly pick up this afternoon and there was a noticeable wind on an end of day trip on foot up to Saix.
The charts from the models today continue the encouraging trend and suggest some useful snowfall and cold temperatures during next week - so more on this on tomorrow morning's forecast page and on this page during the day.
Bonjour - it is a cold and clear start to the day here with the village valley area below -7c. Snow cannon are currently making snow across the ski area.
Forecast update on the forecast page expected at 7.30am...
How you can help this season... you will notice on some pages that there is a PayPal tip/donation box, eg on the "About Us" page, where you can send us a tip, if you like what we are doing. There is no obligation to do so, but any donations will help the running costs of this site during the winter season. The more people who help, the better we can make this site.
