03/01/2021: Today's Updates...

Update 9.50am:

Light snow still falling from the low cloud. Clearer skies reported at the top of Linga.

Village temp is -3c.

Update 8.35am:

Closer to 3cm now - and currently snowing.

Update 7.35am:

Bonjour from Chatel.

There has been a couple of cm's of fresh snow overnight, bringing the total accumulations of snow for the period since last Sunday night to just over 80cm in the village.

Currently snowing very lightly with an air temperature of close to -3c at 1150m.

The provisional opening date of the ski area is the 7th January 2021 - though we await further news on this from the government.

Bars, restaurants and cafes are expected to remain closed until at least the 20th January (takeaway services allowed before then).

Although confinement has ended in France - an overnight curfew is in place from 8pm to 6am (except the evening of 24th December).

Private gatherings indoors should be kept to a maximum of 6 adults according to advice from the French government.

Travel between regions in France is allowed.

Update: 1.30pm: Overnight snowfall brought up to 6cm to the village - with less on other surfaces and alot of it has now thawed at this elevation. It was interesting to see more snow a few miles away
