05/12/2018: Today's Updates... 5.40pm
A jog up to Super Chatel via the Sentier du Morclan this afternoon found the views below - all very pleasant, but mild! It does feel a bit as though the valley is in limbo this week, waiting for the snowfall at the weekend - which will hopefully kick start the season. The charts appear to still be mostly excellent - as far as the ones we have seen so far late this afternoon, so from tomorrow we will start to have a look at some of the potential quantities. This will mostly be a bit of fun, as the main snow event will still be beyond the range of the hi-res models.
More on all this tomorrow, starting with the forecast at 7.45am, followed by updates on this page during the day...
The skies are clearer this morning here in Chatel, with a frost in the valley, however, the air above is getting milder today with the 0C isotherm set to rise to 3000m. As discussed over on the forecast page earlier this morning, the period from Friday night to Tuesday should now bring some significant snowfall, so we are currently in a bit of a holding pattern for a day or two, whilst we wait for the arrival of winter...
How you can help this season... you will notice on some pages that there is a PayPal tip/donation box, eg on the "About Us" page, where you can send us a tip, if you like what we are doing. There is no obligation to do so, but any donations will help the running costs of this site during the winter season. The more people who help, the better we can make this site.
