06/01/2021: Today's Updates...
There have been some light snow showers in the area this morning, bringing a dusting of fresh snow. We've been posting a few photos on the Whatsapp group of this morning's excursion to Mouet... here is one of them...
Bonjour from Chatel.
Air temperatures remain cold here in Chatel and it is currently close to -7c at 1150m.
There has been no further news overnight regarding the potential lift opening date, though there is speculation that today will be the day when an announcement will be made.
Update to follow if we here more.
The provisional opening date of the ski area is the 7th January 2021 - though we await further news on this from the government.
Bars, restaurants and cafes are expected to remain closed until at least the 20th January (takeaway services allowed before then).
Although confinement has ended in France - an overnight curfew is in place from 8pm to 6am (except the evening of 24th December).
Private gatherings indoors should be kept to a maximum of 6 adults according to advice from the French government.
Travel between regions in France is allowed.
