06/02/2020: Today's Updates...
The unusual colour to the cloud this morning looks as though it is due to sand particles in the air, coming up from the Sahara desert!!!
Bonjour from Chatel.
There is some very mild air affecting the area today, so, after the early surface cold conditions, temperatures in the village could really climb during the day and this may be the case on the southern aspect slopes too. The models suggest 12c is possible at 1500m, so the significant thaw of the last week will continue.
The good news is that colder air and some fresh snow is on the way tomorrow, and the chillier temperatures may hang around for a few days, with some signs of milder air returning after midweek.
Snow is expected to fall through most of tomorrow.
Below is the view from the Arome model for snow accumulations from tomorrow morning and through into the early evening (chart from www.meteociel.fr).
