Update 6.50am: Bonjour from Chatel. It has been another cold night in the area, with air temperatures falling to between -12c and -13c in the valley area. The news from the French government yesterday evening was not what was hoped for, with the ski lifts remaining closed. There will now be a review of situation on the 20th January, with an aim to consider a possible re-opening in early February, in time for the French holidays.
So, it appears that the lifts will be closed for the rest of January and possibly longer, unless the Covid situation improves in the next couple of weeks.

Bars, restaurants and cafes are expected to remain closed until further notice (takeaway services allowed).
Although confinement has ended in France - an overnight curfew is in place from 8pm to 6am - note that this may change to a 6pm to 6am curfew. Private gatherings indoors should be kept to a maximum of 6 adults according to advice from the French government. Travel between regions in France is allowed.
