08/02/2020: Today's Updates... Day 59...


With sunny skies bringing a spring feel again to the ski area this afternoon, with some generally very good snow conditions, things are still set to become rather unsettled in the coming days. This will become noticeable tomorrow, as there will be more of a wind for the higher elevations, however, it is Monday which may see some really disruptive winds again along with the arrival of several spells of precipitation. The models continue to chop and change regarding the timing, duration and intensity of the potential precipitation events, so treat automated apps and forecast a little warily at the moment.

Bonjour from Chatel... the skies look mostly clear again this morning and temperatures are currently between -2C and -4C in the village immediate valley area. It is looking like being another fine day on the ski area...

Update: 1.30pm: Overnight snowfall brought up to 6cm to the village - with less on other surfaces and alot of it has now thawed at this elevation. It was interesting to see more snow a few miles away
