09/03/2020: Today's Updates... Day 89...

Today's snowfall was a little bit underwhelming. After the cm's which had accumulated before 7am, the precipitation was very showery in nature, with no really persistent spell to add accumulations to the village, so the snowfall we have down here has been slowly thawing - which is what you would expect in March.

Tomorrow is looking like becoming increasingly wet, with some morning snowfall followed by the afternoon potentially seeing washout conditions right to the top. The good news is that Wednesday is looking sunny.

Regarding Covid19 - as it stands at the moment, Chatel is operating as normal. Events such as Rock The Pistes have been cancelled. We'll obviously post any updates regarding the situation as it develops.

Bonjour from Chatel... it is currently snowing in the village with a max depth of 5cm of fresh snow recorded a few minutes ago, with less on some surfaces. Air temperatures are a touch above 0C at 1200m.

This morning's forecast is expected to be online before 7.45am at ... http://www.chatelweb.com/chatel_snow_forecast.php

Most updates during the daytime periods in March will now by solely on the WhatsApp group, with an evening update posted on this page.

How you can help this season... you will notice on some pages that there is a PayPal tip/donation box, eg on the "About Us" page, where you can send us a tip, if you like what we are doing. There is no obligation to do so, but any donations will help the running costs of this site during the winter season. This will also give you access to the WhatsApp group - which on some days, will be the only place where forecasts and snow reports are posted.
