11/11/2018: Overnight Showers...

Showers of rain affected the area overnight, with mild temperatures continuing, so with an elevated snow/rain limit, no snow fell on our ski area.

After the risk of showers diminishes this morning, the outlook for the next 7 to 10 days is for one of mostly dry conditions, with the mild weather almost certainly continuing for at least the next week, with perhaps something chillier arriving from the east towards the 8 to 10 day period.

So, this outlook is as discussed on yesterday afternoon's post, whereby it will be a case of waiting to see how the high pressure situated over Europe behaves and a bit of patience is going to be required, whilst we wait for the first significant snowfalls of the 2018/19 season.

If that colder air does arrive, then at least that would enable the snow cannon to function, which would be a start, however, any genuine cold temperatures are still beyond a week out on the charts.

Daily updates will be posted on this page, sometimes twice daily, however, the snow forecast page will not commence until there is some evidence of snowfall appearing within 7 days.

Below are a couple of photos taken at 10am.

Bye for now... the next update is expected to be early this evening...

How you can help this season... you will notice on some pages that there is a PayPal tip/donation box, eg on the "About Us" page, where you can send us a tip, if you like what we are doing. There is no obligation to do so, but any donations will help the running costs of this site during the winter season.
