12/02/2020: Today's Updates... Day 63...

There has been more cloud than expected with a few wintry flurries coming through from time to time, though these have not amounted to anything. There continues to be a noticeable and cold wind, though this is not causing any issues with the lifts. All but 2 pistes are open, which is excellent considering the recent mild spell, with the only casualties at the moment being those on Barbossine.

A view into the wild and avalanche hotspot of the Barbossine bowl this morning highlights the issue in that sector...

6.30am: Bonjour from Chatel... there is just a dusting of fresh snow on some surfaces in the village to report this morning with a current temperature at 1200m of -0.5C. A slightly disappointing, though not really unexpected outcome to the latest precipitation event at the village elevation.

This morning's forecast is expected to be online today at approx 7.45am at: http://www.chatelweb.com/chatel_snow_forecast.php - and updates on this page will follow during the day.

How you can help this season... you will notice on some pages that there is a PayPal tip/donation box, eg on the "About Us" page, where you can send us a tip, if you like what we are doing. There is no obligation to do so, but any donations will help the running costs of this site during the winter season. This will also give you access to the WhatsApp group - which on some days, will be the only place where forecasts and snow reports are posted. If you are a business - you can sponsor the site in various ways - so contact us for more info.
