12/03/2019: Today's Updates... 1.40pm...

One of the best morning's on the ski area so far this month after the fresh snowfalls of yesterday. Photos below from around the area before the clouds moved in. It has gone quite mild again today, however, those early conditions were great.

There are some wide estimates of totals of fresh snow with Chatel officially reporting 5cm and Avoriaz 5cm at 1800m and 25cm at the top (work that one out when it was snowing at both of these elevations).

Our measurements found 7cm for fresh snowfall at 1200m during yesterday and last night and 12cm at 1500m. Although wind has played a big part in redistributing the snow at 1800m, we would estimate at least 15cm fell at this elevation and perhaps more. Note that there does appear to be some variations in snowfall across the area, however, the 5cm official figures do not tally with what we have witnessed yesterday and this morning.

The skies are blue...

Bonjour... the skies are clear the wind has dropped and temperatures are around -9c in the village... it should be a great day on the ski area after the fresh snowfall of yesterday... note that winds are expected to increase later in the day...

The forecast page is expected to be updated at 7.45am this morning.
