14/03/2019: Today's Updates... 8.15pm...
The snow has turned wetter and sleetier in the last hour here at 1200m - but should continue to accumulate nicely higher up overnight. In the village, many surfaces saw no additional cover until the heavier snowfall of this afternoon, with our measuring surface receiving 13cm between 2pm and 8pm. The snow cover is now very wet at this elevation. Before then, there was an additional 2cm on top of frozen surfaces between 7am and 2pm - so we can say between 13cm and 15cm has fallen today at 1200m. Not much more is now expected at 1200m as the 0c isotherm is edging upwards.
The 1800m elevation could see another 20cm of snow overnight and through tomorrow, on top of what has already fallen today, however, milder air will be arriving tomorrow...
Snow has been falling today, mostly lightly this morning, but heavier in general this afternoon. We will report on accumulations later this evening - at approx. 8pm.
Bonjour... 11cm of snow has fallen overnight here in Chatel at 1200m, bringing yesterday's measured total to 14cm at this elevation... more snow is on the way... currently cloudy with very light snow falling and a temperature a touch below 0c...
The forecast page is expected to be updated at 7.00am this morning.
