• The Chatel Snow Report

14/11/2018: Beautiful Weather Today...

It is a glorious morning here in Chatel, as highlighted by this morning's photo taken in the Barbossine area at 9.20am.

The models continue to show a general trend of high pressure becoming dominant over Scandinavia this weekend, followed by pressure rising in the Iceland / Greenland areas during next week. It is becoming increasingly likely that something resembling this scenario will happen, however, the details will not be know for some days regarding the extent of any colder air in this part of the Alps, moving in from an easterly quarter and also the chances of precipitation. The potential pattern that is developing is fairly unusual and as mentioned on yesterday's post, it does throw up all sorts of possibilities for this area, some good, some bad. With the models churning out variations on this theme, patience will continue to be required, until we can see where things are heading.

Next update expected early this evening.

Bye for now...
