14/11/2019: Today's Updates... Any Snow Tonight?...
7.55pm:
Following on from this morning's post... today has been a cold feeling and cloudy day, but it has remained dry with a noticeable, really chilly wind coming and going.
Some models still suggest some snowfall overnight tonight, however, we are in a bit of a precipitation shadow (or rain shadow if we were in the UK), and so our expectations remain low.
A glance at the charts below, the position of which we have shifted to in comparison to the area we normally post, shows the difference between areas to the SE - such as to the southeast of the Mont Blanc massif, to areas such as our own. Arome does suggest the chance of a light snowfall up in the PLJ / Avoriaz area, but we shall have to wait and see. Fingers crossed for a nice surprise in the morning...

8.40am:
Bonjour... after a cold night, the skies are cloudier this morning here in Chatel.
It still looks like we will miss out on the snow action today / tonight, due to a slight foehn effect, however, some models still suggest a bit of snow arriving tonight, so a surprise cannot be ruled out - however - our expectations are the same as they were yesterday evening - low.
The hi-res Arome model still suggests zero precipitation, so although it can be wrong, it is often not too far off. We may see a situation where we wee some flakes tonight, without much accumulation, but will take another look early this eve...
