16/01/2020: Today's Updates... Day 36...

It looks like we will see snow tomorrow, but what accumulations are the latest model runs suggesting? Leading the way appears to be Arpege at about 30cm, GFS appears to be nearer to 20cm and the decent Euro 4 model also appears to be showing 20cm to 25cm on its run a few hours ago. These figures would be around the mid-mountain elevation - so there would be potentially less in the village. Other models have similar amounts.

The hi-res Arome model, which is always one to take note of, is suggesting some useful snowfall up to 7am. A representation of its data can be seen in the graphic below from www.meteociel.fr

It shows the possibility of up to 15cm in the village and nearer 25cm in some of the higher areas - so some very useful accumulations if this model is on the money and it appears to concur with what other models are saying.

It looks as though the first sleet and snow will arrive between 2pm and 3pm, but we'll have more info on this on tomorrow morning's forecast update.

There is obviously still the chance of upgrades or downgrades to these latest model forecasts.

Today has been a quiet day for updates, as it has been too glorious to be indoors for long, however, we'll have several updates during the snowfall tomorrow afternoon and evening.

An update regarding tomorrow' potential snowfall will be online this eve.
