16/02/2019: Today's Updates... 5.45pm...

Updated: Feb 17, 2019

Another day with clear blue skies and really warm sunshine - and it was really, really warm today!

The village is also filling up this afternoon, as it is the second Saturday of the main holiday period and the start of 2 weeks of total hectic-ness - both in the village and on the ski area. With high pressure set to remain firmly in charge of the local weather, there should be some lovely weather for all to enjoy... however... the pistes are going to be busy...

With blue skies above Chatel once again today, with some beautiful conditions for those on the ski area, here is a quick looks at the latest model runs for the end of next week and next weekend. The charts below, from the excellent www.meteociel.fr website suggests high pressure dominating the Alpine weather, bringing a continuation of the sunny, and increasingly spring-like snow conditions.

As it stands this morning, there are no convincing signs of snowfall arriving in the next 10 days and this could extend into early March.

We'll be keeping a close eye on when the next pattern change in the weather might take place, but until then, we can enjoy the Alpine sunshine...

Bonjour - the spell of clear skies continues this morning with a slight temperature inversion in the village and valley with temperatures ranging between 0c and -2c. Another spring day on the mountain beckons...

Updates will appear on this page today and the forecast page is expected to be updated

towards 7.45am this morning.

How you can help this season... you will notice on some pages that there is a PayPal tip/donation box, eg on the "About Us" page, where you can send us a tip, if you like what we are doing. There is no obligation to do so, but any donations will help the running costs of this site during the winter season. The more people who help, the better we can make this site.
