17/01/2020: Today's Updates... Day 37...
Nice fat flakes are falling in the village with 3cm of wet snow so far at our location. No photos this eve - but will have one early tomorrow morning, when the next update will be online at around 6.30am... ish...
Snowing moderately with a dusting on most surfaces. Note that the Arome model has upgraded forecast amounts tonight with 20cm to 25cm for higher areas, though it is still predicting approx 10cm for the village.
Wet now still falling - just starting to whiten the grassy areas.
Wet snow has been falling at our location just below 1200m.
Snow was falling at 1450m on Barbossine just after 2pm and the snow/rain limit in the village area has come down to close to 1300m. Hopefully we are not too far away from seeing snow falling in the village centre... regular updates to follow...
The weather is closing in with the precipitation arriving earlier than expected. Light rain / sleet falling in the village at the moment.
The cloud is increasing here in Chatel, as we await the first useful snowfall for over 3 weeks. The latest Arome model update (6z) has upgraded amounts slightly from its early morning run, with 10cm+ suggested for the village and a little closer to 20cm in some higher areas.
It won't be long before we find out the outcome!
