17/02/2019: Today's Updates... 6.10pm...

It has been a spectacular day here in Chatel - another one with crystal clear skies and wonderful warmth. The clear skies and warm temperatures are bringing spring skiing conditions to the area, though the clear skies has meant that there are still pockets of cold and dry snow in places that the sun is not getting to. The clear skies are our friend in these mild spells, helping to preserve the snow cover, despite the strength of the sun.

This morning, there were some fairly hefty queues at the bottom of the Linga telecabine, though not as big they can be at this time of year.

At the moment, it still looks as though high pressure will dominate for the rest of this month.

Views below from this afternoon at Mouet, which was busy with snowshoers and hikers...

Next updates - early tomorrow.

Bonjour - it is clear again this morning with temperatures in the village and valley area between -2c and -4c. It is looking like being another warm day on the ski area...

Updates will appear on this page today and the forecast page is expected to be updated

towards 7.30am this morning.

How you can help this season... you will notice on some pages that there is a PayPal tip/donation box, eg on the "About Us" page, where you can send us a tip, if you like what we are doing. There is no obligation to do so, but any donations will help the running costs of this site during the winter season. The more people who help, the better we can make this site.
