17/11/2018: Evening Update...

The weather turned a bit chillier here in Chatel today, despite it being one of prolonged sunshine after some early morning valley cloud. On a jog to Lac d'Arvoin this afternoon, there was plenty of frozen ground in the shaded areas and there was also bit of ice on the lake itself.

Today's slight chill is nothing in comparison to what is on the way for early in the coming week, when we should see the 0C isotherm fall to near to, or below the village elevation.

Blues skies again - photo taken on the way back from Arvoin this afternoon.

Looking at the latest model output this evening, it is a case of a similar story to what was discussed this morning, with plenty of uncertainty once we get into the back end of next week, but as it stands this evening, there still looks to very little snowfall in the period from Monday to Wednesday.

Beyond that, despite differences in the charts, there is still not alot of precipitation showing, so (for now) the wait for snow goes on.

Bye for now... next update expected to be tomorrow morning...

How you can help this season... you will notice on some pages that there is a PayPal tip/donation box, eg on the "About Us" page, where you can send us a tip, if you like what we are doing.
