18/01/2019: Today's Updates... 7.25pm...

7.25pm:

The snow across the ski area was generally in great condition today, especially on piste as - the off piste areas were a little more varied, due to the modest snowfall, however, especially where wind had redistributed the snow, there was still some fun to be had. Many pistes had cold, dry and grippy snow on them and we found the snow up in Super Chatel to be in good condition right to the end of the day - the exception being the track to the village which was icy, however that is hardly surprising. One sight negative from up in Super Chatel is that there is still not enough natural snow to open the Corbeau drag and piste, which is unusual as it is now the 18th January!

Looking ahead, and the signal for some overnight light snowfall, which was mentioned on the forecast page this morning, has effectively gone, so the next point of interest in terms of snowfall is next Tuesday / Wednesday, which could see something interesting, followed by the chance of genuine, deep cold air affecting the area for a time thereafter.

There should be plenty to discuss over the coming days... starting on these pages from about 6.40am tomorrow, with the daily forecast update expected between 7.30am and 7.45am...

6.45pm:

Photo from the end of the day in Super Chatel... report update expected at 7.30pm (ish)...

12.40pm:

Conditions are reported to be excellent across the ski area this morning, after the top up of fresh snow.

Time is a little short today, so the next update will be this evening... but here is a shot taken during this morning's activities...

8.55am:

There should be some delightful conditions on the pistes early today, after the little top up of powder yesterday evening and the skies have already brightened. The latest lift report suggests more pistes are open, with 38/46 pistes now operational.

Should be a good day... photo a few mins ago...

6.40am:

Bonjour - just a dusting since the final update yesterday evening, so the total measured snowfall from 7am yesterday to 7am this morning at 1200m, looks like being 7cm.

Currently dry.

There will be further updates today, starting first on the forecast page, which will be updated between 7.30am and 7.45am...
