18/02/2021: Today's Updates...

Updated: Feb 19

Update: 9.30am:

Bonjour from Chatel!

The technical issues with the site over the last couple of days have been resolved, so that posting can resume.

This morning has started dry and bright, with bit of high cloud and a temperature inversion, with the valley down below -2c and the village closer to 0c.

Another fine day is expected with mild daytime temperatures for the village and the mostly fine and rather mild weather is likely to continue for some time... and it may become even milder from the weekend. It has already felt really spring-like in the sunshine during this week and it may feel more like summer early next week!

Here is the 0c isotherm forecast for Sunday - potentially close to 3400m for this area

( from www.meteociel.fr ).

Below are this morning's operational charts showing high pressure likely to dominate the weather in the Alps next week.

... and a view towards the Linga area early this morning. Snow remains plentiful, though the thaw in the village and on the sunnier aspect slope continues.

Most updates and photos this season are posted on the WhatsApp members group
