19/12/2020: Today's Updates...
There is a bit of snow in the forecast for tomorrow night - but not very much - see the Arome hi-res chart below.
However, the second graphic below shows the latest prediction from the 3 major models for the Christmas period, with colder air spilling down from the north, which should bring some snow - though the details are highly uncertain.
The charts for later in the period - out towards the 27th/28th December, do show the potential for a notable winter storm arriving, which is one we will be keeping a very close eye on.

Bonjour from Chatel. The skies are partly clear this morning, but air temperatures continue to be relatively mild, with 1c to 2c in the village and -2c in the valley below. Ground temperatures are freezing in the village.
Update to follow with a quick looks at the potential for a bit of snow fall tomorrow...
The provisional opening date of the ski area is the 7th January 2021.
Bars, restaurants and cafes are expected to remain closed until at least the 20th January.
Although confinement has ended in France - an overnight curfew is in place from 8pm to 6am (except the evening of 24th December).
Private gatherings indoors should be kept to a maximum of 6 adults according to advice from the French government.
Domestic and international travel is allowed eg for visits to second homes.
