20/12/2020: Today's Updates...

Update 8.10am:

Here are the latest Arome hi-res snow accumulation forecast charts from www.meteociel.fr

A bit of snow is possible above about 1500m this afternoon / evening.

The outlook for the Christmas period and beyond remains really very interesting... but more on this either during the day today, or on tomorrow's updates.

Update 7.20am:

Bonjour from Chatel. Air temperatures have remained above 0c in the valley and village overnight, so the mild spell continues.

There is the chance of a bit of snow tonight... update to follow...

The provisional opening date of the ski area is the 7th January 2021.

Bars, restaurants and cafes are expected to remain closed until at least the 20th January.

Although confinement has ended in France - an overnight curfew is in place from 8pm to 6am (except the evening of 24th December).

Private gatherings indoors should be kept to a maximum of 6 adults according to advice from the French government.

Travel between regions in France is allowed.

Update: 1.30pm: Overnight snowfall brought up to 6cm to the village - with less on other surfaces and alot of it has now thawed at this elevation. It was interesting to see more snow a few miles away
