21/01/2021: Today's Updates...

Update 8.15am:

This morning models continue to show some potentially very wet weather arriving from about midweek next week, however, before that potentially unwanted scenario, there could be significant snowfalls.

It is quite mild this morning and showers are possible today, which could bring a few sleety bits to the village. Showers are also possible overnight and during tomorrow, though the snow/rain boundary looks like it will be above the village until some heavier and potentially persistent precipitation arrives late in the afternoon tomorrow, bringing snow to the village.

Further spells of snowfall are likely during the period from Saturday to Monday - though the timings and duration of these are far from certain, however, significant snowfall is possible for much of the ski area.

Thereafter, it does look as though something milder and wetter will move in.

Below are the Arome charts showing the possible evolution of the early part of these snowfalls... ( charts from www.meteociel.fr )

Bonjour from Chatel.

It is a milder start to the day, with air temperatures above 0c.

Update to follow with a look at the upcoming rain and snow event.

Media speculation this morning suggests the ski lifts will not open in February, however, we await the official announcement on this.
