21/02/2020: Today's Updates... Day 72...

Time has been in short supply today, so a very brief update... the morning started with some low and mid level cloud in the area and this was sluggish to clear, however, the afternoon was gloriously sunny. The sunshine brought spring conditions again to the ski area, so shaded slopes were the ones which retained the colder, drier snow conditions.

The next 3 days are looking sunny and increasingly mild, with strong sunshine and spring conditions for the ski area. However, a change is on the way for Tuesday, with some unsettled days on the way, which look like seeing a mix of rain, hail, sleet, graupel, snow and wind. The balance between milder and colder air is yet to be resolved, however, there will be opportunities for snowfall and perhaps even a significant snowfall at some stage...

Bonjour from Chatel... the temperature in the village is currently around 2.5C and there are no overnight accumulations to report at 1200m. Fine weather is expected today and through the weekend... with a change arriving next week...

This morning's forecast is already online at... http://www.chatelweb.com/chatel_snow_forecast.php - and updates on this page will follow during the day.
