23/02/2020: Today's Updates... Day 74...

Temperatures rose to ridiculously high levels again today, reaching 17C in the village which is just daft for February and follows the 18C day of about a week ago! There was some wind today too, with a bit of a foehn effect and temperatures are still 10C as this updated is being typed. It goes without saying that the snow on the ski area today reflected the temperatures.

Fortunately, a cold front is set to being something more like winter on Tuesday night and there should be useful or perhaps significant snowfall by Wednesday night on all elevations of the ski area. Thereafter, the charts suggest an unsettled theme, with copious amounts of precipitation and the snow/rain limits yo-yoing up and down.

Here is the Uk Met Office Chart for midday Tuesday, which shows the cold front approaching the area.

Bonjour from Chatel... it is very mild in the village early this morning with an air temperature of 5C, with slight colder air in the valley...
