24/02/2019: Today's Updates... 7.20pm...
The sunshine continued today here in Chatel and more of the same is expected until the end of the week, with a change likely to arrive on Friday.
Some charts are showing the potential for some useful quantities of snow on Friday, perhaps even coming down to the village elevation. Unfortunately, Friday is still 5 days away, so some caution is required, as the set up bringing this potential snow could easily change before then, either for the better or for the worse.
Thereafter, it does look as though we will be entering a much more changeable period, perhaps a mild and changeable period at first, which may edge colder towards the end of the first week of March. Again, this is far from certain, but the high pressure dominated pattern does look like it will come to an end on Friday.
It has been a couple of weeks now since the last snowfall and although many slopes are doing fine in terms of the amounts of snow on them, it is now getting to the stage whereby we could do with some more snow - especially on the sunnier aspect lower slopes and those sunny slopes without snow cannon cover.
Apologies for the lack of photos today.
Bonjour - An update will appear this evening as we are travelling this morning...
How you can help this season... you will notice on some pages that there is a PayPal tip/donation box, eg on the "About Us" page, where you can send us a tip, if you like what we are doing. There is no obligation to do so, but any donations will help the running costs of this site during the winter season. The more people who help, the better we can make this site.
