24/02/2021: Today's Updates...

Update 8.05am:

Bonjour from Chatel.


Air temperatures have remained just above 0c in the village and valley overnight, though there has been some refreezing of the snowpack under the clear skies.


No snowfall is expected in the next 7 days and this may extend to 10 days.

Today is looking like being another beautiful spring-like day...

Those who bought PDS season passes in the "flash sale" from the Chatel ski pass website last spring, should now be receiving emails giving options to either roll them over to next season, receiving a credit note or getting a refund. This applies to unused passes.

The lifts on the ski area are closed until further notice.

Bars, restaurants and cafes are expected to remain closed until further notice (takeaway services allowed).

Although confinement has ended in France - an overnight curfew is in place from 6pm to 6am.

Private gatherings indoors should be kept to a maximum of 6 adults according to advice from the French government.

Travel between regions in France is allowed.

Update: 1.30pm: Overnight snowfall brought up to 6cm to the village - with less on other surfaces and alot of it has now thawed at this elevation. It was interesting to see more snow a few miles away
