- The Chatel Snow Report
26/01/2021: Today's Updates...
Update 7.05am:
Bonjour from Chatel.
It's a cold start this morning with temperatures down to -8c in the valley.
There were further snow showers yesterday evening and for a time overnight with an additional 6cm of powder deposited. The total for for the season in the village is now 288.5cm.
Further snowfall is expected to arrive tomorrow, however, the snow/rain boundary will be rising and rain is likely in the village tomorrow afternoon or evening. Thereafter, some very wet weather is expected and it could rain to the top of the ski area during Thursday and Friday, with some large totals of rain possible. Below is the Arome chart from www.meteociel.fr showing the snowfall by Thursday 1am. There will be a closer look at the snow/rain boundary forecasts tomorrow, however, there looks like being some very unpleasant and potentially dangerous weather on the way.
