26/02/2021: Today's Updates...
Bonjour from Chatel.
Temperatures soared during the daytime yesterday, with unofficial recordings of close to 20c here in the village, with similar reports from Chamonix, which saw its warmest February day since the 1800's !!! The weather station in the Abondance valley saw lower temperatures, but Chatel felt like it was summer!
Considering the incredibly mild temperatures, the snow is holding up remarkably well on many slopes, though the sunny side of the valley and the village has seen the thaw continuing at quite a pace.
With high pressure set to continue to dominate the weather, there is no realistic prospect of snowfall in the next 7 days.
Those who bought PDS season passes in the "flash sale" from the Chatel ski pass website last spring, should now be receiving emails giving options to either roll them over to next season, receiving a credit note or getting a refund. This applies to unused passes.
Most updates and photos this season are posted on the WhatsApp members group
