27/01/2019: Today's Updates... 8.25pm...

8.25pm:

Another 2cm since 6pm, bringing the total at our location just below 1200m to 18cm since 7am this morning. Currently breezy and snowing... next update 6.30am-ish tomorrow...

6.15pm:

The period of heavy snow duly arrived and deposited 10cm of fresh snow up to 6pm - bringing the village total to 16cm so far today. Light snow currently falling but the precipitation radar is promising for the evening period.

Looking good Billy Ray...

4.00pm:

There was a lull in the snow for a couple of hours after the last update, with some hazy sunshine for a brief time, and then a period of heavy snow deposited another 3cm to the village, bringing the total so far on some surfaces to 6cm (+/- 1cm) at 1200m. Currently a mix of snow and graupel is falling but it does look like a prolonged period of heavy snow could hit the area before the end of the afternoon...

3pm at Linga.

12.45pm:

Wind has shut 4 of the higher lifts - Echo Alpin, Chaux Rosees, Cornebois and Combes...

12.35pm:

Snow of varying intensity has been continuing... there was a lull towards 10am and then a period of graupel but also a couple of bursts of heavier snow. The 0c isotherm has risen to around 1400m, so the snow in the village is wet, but about 3cm as fallen so far at this elevation, and a few cm's more as you head up the mountain. At the moment, the situation appears promising, with a chance that our main forecast amounts posted on the forecast page could be surpassed.

9.35am:

Snow has been coming down nicely again in the last few minutes after a period of lighter snow. Heading out for a bit - so next update towards midday...

8.05am:

Snow has pepped up in intensity here in the village in the last half hour... we are still expecting an uptick in the 0c isotherm by 10am, however, this is a good start to the snow event...

6.45am:

Bonjour - Snow has started falling this morning at 1200m in the village...

Updates will appear on this page today and the forecast page is expected to be updated between 7.30am and 7.45am this morning.
