28/01/2020: Today's Updates... Day 48...

No further accumulations - still windy in the village. Will update on overnight accumulations early tomorrow.

Bit of a lull in the snowfall since the last update - mostly light snow, so only an additional dusting. More snow is forecast overnight.

The snow has eased in the last hour, however, another 4cm of snow was deposited. Still windy and snowing lightly. Temperature a touch below 0C at 1200m.

7cm of fresh snow so far at our location, just below 1200m...

Snow is falling...

A heavier period of snow brought blizzard conditions to the village for a time and we now have a light covering on many surfaces. Blowing snow can be seen on the ski area and many of the lifts are shut, with the Linga and Super-Chatel telecabines, the PLJ and Pierre Longue chairlifts being the only major lifts operating.

A mix of showery graupel, snow and soft pellets have been falling in the village this morning with a dusting on some surfaces coming and going, with no prolonged precipitation just yet.

Wind is causing havoc across the PDS and you can check the latest lift situation on the following PDF, which updates whenever there is a change in lift status...

Bonjour from Chatel. It is very windy in the village early this morning, with a few flakes of snow now falling after a wet night. Temperature currently between 3C and 4C...
