30/12/2020: Today's Updates:

Update 9.45am:

Total since last night stands at 8.5cm in the village, which is 48.5cm since Sunday night.

Further snow showers are expected today and tomorrow. Amounts of snow continue to be generally above those suggested by the models.


Currently drier with one or two snow flurries. Temp about -2c.






Update 7.00am:

There has been a further 8cm of fresh snow in the village since the last update. The total of measured accumulations since Sunday night now stands at 48cm at 1150m.

Update 6.15am:

Bonjour from Chatel.

There has been some further snowfall overnight... update to follow before 8am with the latest on these fresh accumulations...




The provisional opening date of the ski area is the 7th January 2021.


Bars, restaurants and cafes are expected to remain closed until at least the 20th January (takeaway services allowed before then).

Although confinement has ended in France - an overnight curfew is in place from 8pm to 6am (except the evening of 24th December).


Private gatherings indoors should be kept to a maximum of 6 adults according to advice from the French government.


Travel between regions in France is allowed.

Update: 1.30pm: Overnight snowfall brought up to 6cm to the village - with less on other surfaces and alot of it has now thawed at this elevation. It was interesting to see more snow a few miles away
