31/12/2019: Today's Updates... Day 20...
The last post of 2019 and it has been another fine, but very busy day for the ski area. There was a bit more high cloud today, so the sunshine wasn't as strong, however, the area remains congested, with a major bottleneck reported at the Conche lift at Super Chatel. The queues become very big when there is a technical issue, as was the case at Linga for a time yesterday (see bottom photo) and apparently was the case at Conche today.
Some people have reported quieter conditions in some areas today, eg Morgins was reportedly quiet as was Barbossine at times too.
In terms of the forthcoming weather, GFS has backed away from its forecast of some useful Saturday snowfall, however, there does look as though there is still a chance that the area will see colder temperatures arrive later in the weekend, which could kick start the snow making operation on those areas that need it.
Photo below from Super Chatel this afternoon.
Bonjour from Chatel.
