Today's Updates: 04/12/2018... 5.50pm...
We have been down the valley today since late morning on another showery day in the area. There looks to have been a light snowfall above about 1800m.
The models so far this evening are again showing the potentially snowy scenario that is hopefully on the way between Friday night and Tuesday, though again there are hints of a milder pulse of air arriving at some stage, perhaps during Saturday evening and night, before colder air returns with snowfall on Sunday. All these sorts of details may very well change in the next couple of days, so once again it is a situation of waiting patiently for the weekend, without getting too frustrated or carried away by individual model runs / automated forecasts.
Just to repeat a familiar message... the pattern shown in the charts today continues to show a good chance of some sort of significant snowfall event arriving between Friday and Tuesday.
Bye for now... next update will be on the forecast page at 7.45am tomorrow, with further updates on this page.
Showers continue to affect the area this morning, with a hint of a dusting above 1800m, though the photo below shows the decline in snow cover over the last couple of days.
How you can help this season... you will notice on some pages that there is a PayPal tip/donation box, eg on the "About Us" page, where you can send us a tip, if you like what we are doing. There is no obligation to do so, but any donations will help the running costs of this site during the winter season. The more people who help, the better we can make this site.
