Here's the first bonkers Arpege snow accumulation chart of the season - check out the totals further south. With an 0c isotherm perhaps rising to 2000m or more on Saturday, this chart looks unrealistic at best and has the look of January 2018 about it! For those that don't remember - that is not a good thing! As it stands this evening, we are expecting significant snowfall on Friday, with milder air infiltrating the area on Saturday - with the snow/rain limits on Saturday the big unknown at this stage.

A couple more as it becomes clearer. Mixed messages coming in regarding fresh accumulations higher up.
Couple more photos - brightening up here - and snow cannon in operation, even close to the village... which is really important to get that base on the lower slopes...

Bonjour from Chatel, where there is good news this morning... totals of snowfalls since yesterday morning at our location just below 1200m was 11cm up to 9pm last night with a further 12cm overnight, bringing a total of 23cm of recorded snowfall. There's about 20cm on some surfaces this morning.
